The 1956 debut as a bandleader from Memphis piano virtuoso Phineas Newborn Jr., joined by his guitarist brother Calvin alongside bassist Oscar Pettiford and drummer Kenny "Klook" Clarke. From the breakneck runs of "Celia" and "Dahoud" to gems like "The More I See You," it is a dazzling, fiery showcase of his technique. Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder's studio and remastered by Speakers Corner using pure analogue components only, from the master tapes through to the cutting head.
