The Final Cut is the twelfth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released on 21 March 1983. It is the band's last studio album to feature founding member, bassist and songwriter Roger Waters, and the only one for which he alone is credited with writing and composition. Conceived as a requiem for the post-war dream and reshaped around the Falklands War, the album explores Waters' feelings about his father, who died serving in the Second World War. Waters sings most of the lyrics, with David Gilmour providing vocals on a single track.
