Originally released in 1997 and recorded by Bob Weston (Shellac) at The Fidelitorium in the Carolinas, Shapes finds the endlessly evolving Polvo stretching into their most rock-leaning postures. It opens with the sputter of a car engine before "Enemy Insects" kicks in, the band pushing their trademark non-Western tunings and detuned guitar army into bold new shapes.
