Decca Pure Analogue Series — 180-Gram Vinyl, All-Analogue Cut From The Original Two-Track Tapes

This 1969 recording of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and Sir Neville Marriner — the most recorded orchestra and conductor partnership in history — remains as fresh and bursting with new ideas as it did when it first came out.

Alan Loveday's wonderfully stylish violin solos and Simon Preston's imaginative continuo realization on harpsichord and organ make this one of the most musically satisfying Seasons on record. Recorded by Argo at St. John's, Smith Square, London in September 1969 by the classic combination of producer Michael Bremner and balance engineer Stanley Goodall.
