Recorded in 1958, Holiday in Brazil (alternatively titled Brazilliance, Vol. 2) reunited Brazilian master guitarist Laurindo Almeida and altoist/flutist Bud Shank five years after their groundbreaking first collaboration blending American jazz with Brazilian samba. This volume gives Shank more room for his signature silky soloing and energetic motifs, supported by bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Chuck Flores, with warm, detailed engineering by Dayton "Bones" Howe. Impex's deluxe edition reproduces the reverse-tip-on jacket and brown paper label of the original release.
