Curtis Mayfield - Curtis - LP
Lacquers Cut from the Original Analog Master Tapes by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab
After leaving The Impressions, Curtis Mayfield announced his solo arrival with one of soul's defining statements. Blending socially conscious songwriting with lush orchestration, deep funk grooves and his unmistakable falsetto, Curtis set the template for the socially aware soul of the 1970s. Home to the enduring anthem "Move On Up," it remains a cornerstone of the genre.
This Rhino pressing carries the all-analog cut Matthew Lutthans made at The Mastering Lab straight from the original master tapes — the same lacquers used for the limited 55th Anniversary Rhino Reserve edition, now available as a standard release. Plated at Record Technology, Inc. and pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing, housed in a gatefold jacket.
