Eddie Henderson - Heritage - Blue Note Classic LP
Blue Note Classic Vinyl Reissue Series — 180g Vinyl LP, Mastered by Kevin Gray from the Original Analog Tapes, Pressed at Optimal!
Trumpeter Eddie Henderson first gained prominence with Herbie Hancock's influential band Mwandishi in the early 1970s before recording a pair of seminal jazz-funk fusion classics as a leader for Blue Note — Sunburst (1975) and Heritage (1976), both produced by Skip Drinkwater. For Heritage, Henderson assembled a forward-looking crew including Julian Priester on trombone, Hadley Caliman on woodwinds, Patrice Rushen on keyboards, Paul Jackson on bass, Mtume on percussion, and drummers Mike Clark, Woody Theus and Billy Hart. The seven-song set is heavy on vibe and rife with fierce grooves, dark textures, and intricate arrangements.
This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is stereo, all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
