Fearless and fiery, he leads a rock-solid quintet — James Spaulding (alto sax/flute), Ronnie Mathews (piano), Eddie Khan (bass) and Joe Chambers (drums) — through a progressive set of four originals plus Chambers' classic "Mirrors." Part of Blue Note's Tone Poet series, all-analog and mastered from the original tapes by Kevin Gray.
