Recorded in January 1970 at Van Gelder Studio, Green Is Beautiful captures guitarist Grant Green at the height of his jazz-funk era. Joined by Blue Mitchell, Idris Muhammad, and a deep groove section, the set opens with a ten-minute take on James Brown's "Ain't It Funky Now" and includes covers of The Beatles' "A Day in the Life" and Burt Bacharach's "I'll Never Fall in Love Again." This Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
