Numbered, Limited Edition of 1,000 — 180g Translucent Purple Vinyl
Fat Albert Rotunda is keyboardist Herbie Hancock's venture into jazz-funk, built around music he wrote for the Fat Albert cartoon show. Arriving between his landmark Maiden Voyage (1965) and his 1973 classic Head Hunters, it pairs funky cuts like "Fat Mama" with modern, jazz-oriented tunes like "Tell Me a Bedtime Story." The sextet backing Hancock features some of the era's finest players, including Joe Henderson on tenor sax, Johnny Coles on trumpet and Buster Williams on bass.
