Intervention Records continues its Sun Records Hi-Fi Series with a brilliant new MONO Hybrid CD/SACD of Johnny Cash's groundbreaking 1957 debut — with 3 extra tracks not on the vinyl release!

Originally issued in the fall of 1957 — the first long-player for Sam Phillips' Sun Records — Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar! showcases the stripped-down sound that made the future Man in Black one of the most enduring musicians of the 20th century. Backed by his "Tennessee Two" (Luther Perkins on lead guitar, Marshall Grant on upright bass) and Phillips' signature slapback echo, the album features "I Walk The Line," "Cry, Cry, Cry," "So Doggone Lonesome" and "Folsom Prison Blues." The 12-song original repertoire is mastered by Kevin Gray at CoHEARent Audio directly from Sun's original analog master tapes to DSD, with Gus Skinas at the Super Audio Center preparing the DSD files. Restored artwork by Tom Vadakan and liner notes by two-time Grammy winner Colin Escott complete the package.
