Born in Tyler, Texas in 1926, Johnny Gimble was a major name in country music and Western swing whose nimble yet warm fiddle earned him work with Marty Robbins, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Connie Smith, Loretta Lynn, Chet Atkins and many more. Recorded in 2010 at age 83, Celebrating with Friends was his final album, an all-star session revisiting old favorites with guests including Vince Gill, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson and A Prairie Home Companion's Garrison Keillor.
