The most important soloist in Duke Ellington's orchestra for decades, Hodges is remembered above all for his virtuosic sidemanship and his sensitive rendering of ballads. This Verve Acoustic Sounds Series reissue is mastered from the original analog tapes by Bernie Grundman, pressed on 180g vinyl at Quality Record Pressings, and packaged in a Stoughton tip-on gatefold jacket.
