It reached #1 on the UK Albums Chart and ranks among the best-selling albums in UK chart history, with sales of 3.9 million copies there and around 19 million worldwide. The collection gathers most of Queen's hits from 1981 to 1991 and was released less than a month before the death of Freddie Mercury—the last Queen release of any kind issued while he was still alive.
