Every single aspect of the Planar 1 has been meticulously designed to improve performance. It uses a bespoke 24 V, low-noise synchronous motor to reduce vibration, combined with the hand-made RB110 tonearm fitted with Rega's unique ultra-low friction bearings. Rega's latest drive belt technology, the EBLT belt, delivers greater accuracy and improved speed performance. The special edition Walnut effect finish is constructed from the same high-rigidity premium laminate used on the standard matt Planar 1 — an attractive, high-quality, realistic finish supplied as standard with a premium smoked dustcover to set off the design.

RB110 Tonearm

The RB110 tonearm is built with Rega-designed, bespoke, ultra-low friction bearings (patent pending), a new bias assembly and an integrated arm clip. Automatic bias adjustment negates the need for the user to set bias, making this the most 'plug & play' turntable Rega has ever manufactured. The ergonomically designed headshell improves usability and appearance. A Rega Carbon cartridge is supplied fitted as standard, along with a 111 g 'plug & play' balance weight.

24 V Synchronous Motor

The first entry-level Rega turntable to use a 24 V synchronous AC motor with a new motor PCB and aluminium pulley, offering low noise and better speed stability. A motor cover tray with integrated cooling is fitted.

Plinth and Platter

A matt finish plinth with an ergonomically positioned on/off switch located on the underside, available in three plinth finishes: matt black, matt white and Walnut effect. The 23 mm, higher-mass phenolic platter delivers an improved flywheel effect for better speed stability, spinning on a performance brass main bearing that improves fit, removes stress on the bearing itself and minimises the transfer of potential energy (patent pending). The latest foot assembly design increases stability and reduces vibration transfer.
