Ron Carter - Golden Striker - LP
Audiophile 2LP, 180 Gram Virgin Vinyl
Recorded live at the Theaterstübchen in Kassel, Germany, Golden Striker captures the Ron Carter Trio — the most-recorded bassist in jazz history alongside guitarist Russell Malone and pianist Donald Vega — in patient, intimate, beautifully understated form. For some seven decades, the bassist from Ferndale, Michigan has been regarded as one of the most important and creative players of his instrument, with a career spanning Eric Dolphy, Miles Davis's legendary quintet, Gil Evans, Cannonball Adderley, Freddie Hubbard, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock and beyond. This audiophile edition adds two bonus tracks, "RVG" and "Limehouse Blues," previously unavailable on vinyl.
