A poetic, soulful love letter to Hokkaido and to Slowboat, the Sapporo jazz club where the legendary pianist spent the latter half of his career, the record finds Fukui flowing through standards and originals with natural class and absolute precision. Backed by Takumi Awaya on bass and Ittetsu Takemura on drums, it is a fitting final statement from one of Japan's most beloved jazz pianists, originally released in 2016, the year of his passing.
