Pure Smokey was Smokey Robinson's second solo album after leaving The Miracles, issued on Motown's Tamla label in 1974. It features mostly songs Robinson composed with Marv Tarplin, the fellow ex-Miracle who wrote, played guitar and toured alongside him. Hits include "I Am I Am" (#6 R&B), "Virgin Man" (#12 R&B), and "It's Her Turn to Live" (#29 R&B).
