Potent, accessible, and often obliteratingly lovely, Murray Street opens with three of the strongest songs in the band's catalog and is enriched throughout by cascades of intricate three-guitar noise. It was the first Sonic Youth album to feature Jim O'Rourke as an official fifth member.
