Released in 1998, The Chinese Album is the second record from British expat glam-rockers Spacehog, originally conceived as the soundtrack to an unmade film called Mungo City. A more fully realized work than its hit-making predecessor, it crafts a rich glam aesthetic with nods to Queen, Badfinger, The Kinks and R.E.M. — Michael Stipe even guests on the mellow "Almond Kisses." One of the late '90s' great lost records, finally back on wax.
