180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl, Pressed at Pallas in Germany
Guitar- and piano-playing rural blues revivalist Taj Mahal was a rarity in the late 1960s — a young artist accurately reviving classic country blues for a new generation. On this set, one side is recorded live at Winterland in San Francisco and the other in Columbia's San Francisco studios, with backing vocals from the Pointer Sisters. Taj plays National steel-bodied guitar, kalimba, banjo, conch, and upright bass throughout.
