The Cure's 1979 debut, recorded at London's Morgan Studios and released that May. Among the seminal records of British post-punk, it captures the band as a stripped-down power trio — a lineup that lasted only for this album, giving it an unusually minimal, wiry sound. Shortly after its release, the group signed to Chris Parry's Fiction label.
