The 1961 album from fourteen-time Grammy-nominated pianist and composer Toshiko Akiyoshi, then known as Toshiko Mariano. Recorded at Nola Penthouse Studios in New York in December 1960 with Charlie Mariano (alto sax), Gene Cherico (bass) and Eddie Marshall (drums), it captures Akiyoshi early in her career in a confident, straight-ahead hard-bop style. The LP includes liner notes by Candid A&R man and producer Nat Hentoff.
