Wayne Shorter - Etcetera - Tone Poet LP
$38.99
All-Analog 180g Tone Poet Pressing — Mastered by Kevin Gray from the Original Tape, Pressed at RTI
This quartet session from 1965 has long been considered one of Wayne Shorter's finest studio dates, even though it stayed in the vault until 1980. Etcetera showcases the saxophonist's signature oblique lines alongside Herbie Hancock on piano, Cecil McBee on bass, and Joe Chambers on drums, with highlights including the drum-fueled title track, the dreamy ballad "Penelope," and the meditative 5/4 "Indian Song." Every composition is Shorter's own except Gil Evans' striking "Barracudas." A true highlight of the Shorter discography.
