Wilco's sixth studio album finds the band at the height of its powers, trading the daring experimentation of the Grammy-winning A Ghost Is Born for an eloquently straightforward set of songs about romantic separation, reconciliation and redemption. Jeff Tweedy cut these tracks in the band's Chicago studio with John Stirratt, Glenn Kotche, Mikael Jorgensen, Nels Cline and Pat Sansone, with hints of early-seventies folk-rock sweetness in the harmonies and plenty of brash, unexpected guitar solos. This double-vinyl edition is a 180 gram half-speed master plated and pressed at RTI, and includes a bonus CD of the complete album.
