Willie Dixon & Memphis Slim - Willie's Blues - Analogue Productions LP
$39.99
200-Gram Vinyl LP, Analogue Productions Reissue
Part of the ultimate audiophile Prestige stereo reissue series from Analogue Productions — among the most collectible, rarest, and best-sounding Rudy Van Gelder recordings ever made. Recorded in 1959, Willie's Blues was Willie Dixon's first album as a leader, cut with pianist Memphis Slim while the two worked the coffeehouse circuit. Unlike Dixon's other records, he and Slim are backed not by Chicago blues players but by a group of New York mainstream jazzmen, including tenor saxophonist Hal Ashby, guitarist Wally Richardson, and drummer Gus Johnson.
