Wireworld - Aurora 7 Power Conditioning Cord
An earlier generation of Wireworld’s silver-clad power cord, at legacy pricing. No longer in Wireworld’s catalogue.
Aurora 7 is two generations behind Wireworld’s current range and it is no longer sold by them. It does not appear in their current power cord collection, and the old Aurora 7 page on their site now serves Aurora 10 content instead. Dealers who still list it mark it as closeout. What we have is remaining stock and we would rather you knew that up front.
Aurora is the rung of Wireworld’s power cord range that adds silver cladding to oxygen-free copper conductors — one step above the plain-copper Stratus and below the OCC-7N Electra. That positioning has held across generations.
Being straight about the specification: because Wireworld has taken the Series 7 pages down and overwritten the URL, we cannot give you first-party figures for this cord. Gauge, conductor count, insulation generation, current rating — none of it exists on a live Wireworld page any more. Dealer listings quote various amp ratings that disagree with each other. We are not going to publish the Aurora 10’s numbers under this product and hope you do not notice.
What we can tell you is what it is for and what the current alternative is. If you want a documented, current cord with published specifications, the Aurora 10 sits in the same position in the range and is on the shelf. If you want this one because of the price, that is a perfectly reasonable thing to want — just buy it knowing what it is.
Features
- The silver-clad-copper rung of Wireworld’s power cord range, in an earlier generation
- No longer sold by Wireworld — legacy stock at legacy pricing
- The current equivalent is the Aurora 10
Specifications
- Type: AC power cord
- Status: Discontinued. Absent from Wireworld’s current range, and the old Aurora 7 URL on their site now serves Aurora 10 content. Wireworld never publishes an explicit statement retiring it, so this is what we observed rather than what they said. Legacy stock
- Current equivalent: Aurora 10, which occupies the same position in the current range: silver-clad oxygen-free copper, 12AWG, 22 conductors, Composilex 5
- Position in the range: The Aurora tier sits above Stratus and below Electra, in this generation as in the current one
- Conductor material: Silver-clad oxygen-free copper is the Aurora tier’s defining material. No live Wireworld page states it for the Series 7 cord specifically
- Gauge, conductor count, insulation: Not published. Wireworld has removed the Series 7 specifications and overwritten the product page. We are not going to substitute the Aurora 10’s figures here
- Current and voltage rating: Not published by Wireworld. Dealer listings quote 10 amps and 15 amps depending on region and disagree with each other — treat all of them as unverified
- Lengths: As shown above — the stock we hold
- Published measurements: None, in this generation or the current one. Wireworld publishes no measurement supporting any noise or filtering claim for their power cords
- Country of manufacture: Not published. Wireworld is headquartered in Davie, Florida, but we could find no Made in USA claim for the cables themselves anywhere on their site — the only manufacturing statement we found concerns packaging, which they say is printed in the US. A head office is not a factory and we are not going to present it as one.
- Warranty: Wireworld publishes a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects to the original purchaser, with damage from abuse or wear excluded. That is essentially the whole published policy — there is no itemised exclusions list, no claims procedure and no statement about transferability, though the phrase “to the original purchaser” implies it does not transfer. Proof of purchase from an authorised dealer is required, and Wireworld asks you to go through that dealer first. The ’In Groove is an authorised Wireworld dealer.
