Skywriting is the latest full-length album from Zachary Cale, primarily recorded at Black Dirt Studio by Jason Meagher in upstate New York. His seventh studio record pivots toward a more band-focused rock sound. Inspired by many years on the road, the songs depict characters in a state of perpetual motion — the gamble and sacrifice of pursuing one's art felt in nearly every line, with reflections on time between cities, motel rooms, green rooms, and long stretches of highway.
