Mr Bongo proudly presents AFIM, the second solo album by one of Brazil's most exciting new talents, Zé Ibarra — known for his work with Latin Grammy-winning quartet Bala Desejo and the band Dônica, and for touring with Milton Nascimento. Comprising eight tracks of Ibarra's own compositions alongside covers of contemporaries Sophia Chablau, Tom Veloso and Dora Morelenbaum, AFIM combines MPB, jazz, pop and progressive rock in a bold, authoritative style. It moves from stripped-down, intimate singer-songwriter moments to dense arrangements with sweeping strings by Jaques Morelenbaum.
