This is the first vinyl collection of recordings by the legendary Greek folk violinist Alexis Zoumbas, presenting his most hypnotic and unearthly pre-war pieces. Drawn from years of research by Christopher King and faithfully remastered from the original 78s, the set comes with extensive notes, previously unpublished photographs, and original artwork by R. Crumb. Originally issued for Record Store Day 2014, this Third Man Records edition adds a bonus 7" EP featuring two previously unissued alternate takes.
