Recorded in 1964, Indestructible was drummer Art Blakey's final album for Blue Note, cut with a powerhouse sextet edition of The Jazz Messengers featuring Wayne Shorter (tenor saxophone), Lee Morgan (trumpet), Curtis Fuller (trombone), Cedar Walton (piano), and Reggie Workman (bass). The program collects five strong originals from within the band and is framed by one of Reid Miles' most memorable cover designs.
