Recorded at CI Recording Studios in New York in December 1977, the In My Prime sessions capture a stacked line-up — including altoist Bobby Watson, trumpeter Valery Ponomarev, trombonist Curtis Fuller, tenorman David Schnitter and the debut of pianist James Williams — delivering supercharged, no-holds-barred hard bop. This deluxe edition compiles the complete sessions, originally issued by Dutch label Timeless Records as Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.
