French saxophonist Barney Wilen recorded his first album as a leader in 1957 at age 20, originally issued as Guilde du Jazz J-1239. He's joined by Hubert Fol (alto sax), Nico Buninck (piano), Lloyd Thompson (bass) and Al Levitt (drums) for a date that captures the joyful, swinging essence of jazz with the subtlety of Wilen's imagination. Recorded in Paris, 1957.
