Heavy Metal is the debut solo album from Geese frontman Cameron Winter — an unexpected left turn from Geese's jam-adjacent indie twang. Winter mostly forgoes stadium-sized guitars for a softer touch that puts his mystical, imaginative lyrical style on full display. Occasionally confounding and endlessly rewarding, it reveals Winter as a shapeshifting singer-songwriter in the mold of Dylan, Cohen, and Nilsson.
