Audio-Technica - AT617a Cartridge Stylus Cleaner

A polyurethane gel pad that lifts dust off the stylus with one straight-down press — no fluid, no brushing.

Brushes and fluids both ask you to move something against the cantilever, which is the one part of a cartridge least able to take it. The AT617a takes the opposite approach: set it under the cartridge, cue the stylus straight down onto the gel as you would onto a record, and lift straight back up. The tacky surface takes the debris with it.

Audio-Technica says the gel stays tacky for years, and when the surface finally looks dirty you rinse it under water and let it dry — the tack comes back. There is nothing to refill and nothing to replace.
