$59.99
180-Gram 45 RPM Double LP, Tip-On Gatefold Jacket
John Coltrane's landmark 1961 album marked a turning point in his career, introducing his pioneering modal approach and his distinctive soprano saxophone on the modal reworking of the Rodgers and Hammerstein title track from The Sound of Music. Backed by his classic quartet of McCoy Tyner, Steve Davis, and Elvin Jones, Coltrane delivers intense, exploratory and deeply emotive playing throughout. This Analogue Productions reissue, part of the Atlantic 75th Anniversary Series, was mastered directly from the original master tape by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound and cut at 45 RPM.
