Cowboy Junkies - The Trinity Session - Analogue Productions SACD
Hybrid SACD — Remastered by Original Recording Engineer Peter Moore and Cowboy Junkies, Authored by Gus Skinas at the Super Audio Center
Recorded in a single day — November 27, 1987 — inside Toronto's Church of the Holy Trinity with the band gathered around one Calrec ambisonic microphone, The Trinity Session is a hushed, hypnotic landmark of alt-country and dream-folk. The natural church reverb and the one-take, live-off-the-floor approach lend an almost sacred intimacy, anchored by Margo Timmins' serene vocals. The set drifts between Michael Timmins originals like "Misguided Angel" and transformed covers, most famously a languid reading of the Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane." Remastered by original engineer Peter Moore with the band, this Hybrid SACD plays in both CD and SACD players.
