Curtis Mayfield - Superfly (Original Soundtrack) - Rhino Hi-Fi LP

The record that turned a blaxploitation soundtrack into one of the great socially conscious soul statements, cut all-analog for Rhino High Fidelity.

Kevin Gray cut this AAA lacquer straight from the original stereo master tapes, and it's pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Optimal in a heavyweight glossy gatefold jacket. Released in July 1972, the album famously outran the film, topping the Billboard chart on the strength of the gold, million-selling singles "Freddie's Dead" and "Superfly." This numbered limited edition includes an exclusive insert with new liner notes by Aaron Cohen.
