Within a year of her groundbreaking double album Bad Girls, Donna Summer left Casablanca to become the first artist signed to the new Geffen Records. 1987's All Systems Go was recorded in Los Angeles and Munich and largely produced by Giorgio Moroder collaborator Harold Faltermeyer, lending a harder-edged, FM-radio-friendly sound with a heavier R&B influence. It includes the worldwide hit "Dinner With Gershwin" (written by Brenda Russell) and the duet "Only the Fool Survives" with Starship's Mickey Thomas.
