Latin music — with all its spirit, intensity and magic — came of age as a cultural revelation in the 1970s, and ELEGUA is part of that happening. Formed in Boston from the collective efforts of musicians devoted to the future of Latin American music, the group deals in Latin music's traditional forms while weaving in contemporary elements to forge an original, unified style all its own. Originally a private pressing from 1977, this long-lost Latin jazz session is finally reissued.
