Empty Sky is Elton John's debut studio album, originally released in June 1969 and recorded in DJM's 8-track studio. It is the only early-career album not produced by Gus Dudgeon, instead helmed by DJM staffer Steve Brown, with Elton playing harpsichord on several tracks. Its best-known song, "Skyline Pigeon," is one he has described as the first he and Bernie Taupin ever got truly excited about.
