Erich Kunzel - Tchaikovsky: 1812 Overture - LP
$29.99
180 Gram Vinyl, Gatefold Jacket — Telarc's All-Time Best-Selling Recording
Erich Kunzel leads the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in this legendary Telarc recording of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, paired with the Capriccio Italien and the "Cossack Dance" from Mazeppa. First released in 1979, it was among the earliest commercial digital classical recordings made in the U.S. and famously captured real digitally recorded cannons — so dramatic that the original sleeve warned listeners to mind their volume. It went on to sell over 800,000 copies and became the audiophile demonstration disc of choice. This 180-gram reissue is pressed at Optimal Media in Germany.
