Freddie Hubbard - Open Sesame - 80th LP
$25.99
Freddie Hubbard's 1960 Blue Note debut, reissued in the all-analog Blue Note 80 series.
Trumpeter Freddie Hubbard arrived fully formed with Open Sesame in June 1960, his brilliant tone and jaw-dropping technique already in command at the head of a sterling quintet featuring tenor saxophonist Tina Brooks, pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Sam Jones, and drummer Clifford Jarvis. Brooks contributes two originals, including the title track, alongside standards and blues that show off Hubbard's bravado and lyricism. One of the great hard-bop debuts.
