Hank Mobley - Mobley's 2nd Message - Analogue Productions LP
$39.99
180 Gram Vinyl, Mono – Cut from the Original Mono Analog Master Tapes by Kevin Gray
Recorded on July 27, 1956 — just one week after Mobley's Message — Mobley's 2nd Message is prime hard bop from the tenor saxophonist Leonard Feather dubbed the "middleweight champion of the tenor saxophone." Neither as aggressive as Coltrane nor as mellow as Getz, Mobley's laid-back, melodic style is in fine form alongside Kenny Dorham (trumpet), Walter Bishop (piano), Doug Watkins (bass), and Art Taylor (drums).
