Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes were one of the most successful crossover soul groups of the early-to-mid 1970s. "The Blue Album," originally issued on Logan Westbrooks' Source Records, spotlights long-term singer Sharon Paige and spawned three Billboard R&B chart hits including "Prayin'" and "I Should Be Your Lover." Three tracks were written by McFadden & Whitehead, with others penned by Gamble & Huff and Alicia Myers. This is the first vinyl reissue since the album's original release.
