Message To The Young was Howlin' Wolf's eighth album, released by Chess Records in 1971. Often regarded as an attempt at a psychedelic record, its sound ranges across acid-rock, blues and funk. The title track is Wolf's spoken-word ballad reaching out to the youth of the era with a simple message: be yourself. Arranged and conducted by Cash McCall, the album also features legendary pianist Sonny Thompson.
