Demon Records continues its reappraisal of Ian Dury's catalogue with a vinyl reissue of 1980's Laughter. Found at a creative crossroads after two platinum-selling solo albums, Dury saw songwriting partner Chas Jankel exit The Blockheads, replaced by Dr. Feelgood legend Wilko Johnson on guitar. The ironically titled Laughter turns Dury's gift for lyrics toward his personal and historical demons across an angry, harrowing set of songs including "Delusions of Grandeur" and "Manic Depression (Jimi)," and carries the classic single "Superman's Big Sister."
