200 Gram Mono LP, Cut from the Analogue Masters by Kevin Gray

The perennially underrated trumpeter Bill Hardman takes the spotlight on this 1956 Prestige blowing date led by alto saxophonist Jackie McLean. Recorded with a blue-ribbon rhythm section of Mal Waldron, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones, after the pair left Charles Mingus's workshop and before joining Art Blakey, it captures Hardman's raw sound and tense, running attack. This Analogue Productions reissue is cut from the original masters by Kevin Gray.
