Recorded at the Apollo Theater in Harlem on October 24, 1962 at Brown's own expense and released in 1963, Live at the Apollo is one of the greatest live albums ever made. It spent 66 weeks on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, peaking at #2, and was later ranked among Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The original side break famously fell in the middle of the long performance of "Lost Someone."
