Brighten is the third solo studio album from Alice in Chains guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell, and his first solo release in nearly two decades. Recorded with a rotating cast of guest players — including Duff McKagan, Gil Sharone, Abe Laboriel Jr., Greg Puciato and co-producer Tyler Bates — it moves through harmony-rich rock with prominent roles for keys, strings and pedal steel, closing with a cover of Elton John's "Goodbye."
